Bucket List

September 1st, 2011

I think everyone should have a list of things to do before they die.  Things that are not easy to do, but well worth the time and effort.  For me effort comes mostly down to money, with a little bit of travel thrown in so it wouldn’t be so easy.  :)

So here we go, in no particular order…

TO DO:
swim the Amazon River
climb the Great Pyramid of Giza
walk along the Great Wall of China
eat sushi in Tokyo
scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef
bungee jump
drink Guinness in Ireland
eat fish and chips in London
see Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower
watch the sun rise and set in Hawaii, in the same day
have a drink at Sloppy Joe’s in the Key West
smoke a Cuban cigar on a  beach in Cuba
surf Waikiki Beach
sky dive (actually I did this one several years ago with my mom, love you mom)
go on safari in Africa
visit the volcanoes on the Big Island of Hawaii
watch a Formula 1 race in Monte Carlo
drive the German Autobahn
visit the Vincent van Gogh museum in Amsterdam
go to Munich German for Oktoberfest
eat deep dish pizza in Chicago
eat at Yoshi’s in Oakland
see the Aurora Borealis (either pole is fine, but I would like to travel to Antarctica if given a choice)
hike to the top of Machu Picchu in Peru
see Medeski, Martin and Wood play in another country
be in an earthquake (completed 8/23/2011)

ACCOMPLISHED:
We got a 5.8 earthquake in Virginia just before 2pm on August 23rd.

This list is current as of September 1st 2011.  I will add things as I think of them and if I am lucky, take things off this list.

Hiking Trails:

When I talk to people about camping and hiking we usually banter back and forth about places we have visited that the other person should really check out.  I have collected so many that I decided to start writing them down.
